I hate the 80's (but the cartoons were good)

This is a good-bye to Michael Jackson, and a portion of my childhood. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

I love the 80's (but I never watched any of the cartoons).

Sad for me.

The cartoons were such an escape for me, that's why I loved them during that period.

The music of the 80's generally makes me depressed! I know I'm just projecting, but you know, now that the 80's period is considered "retro" and coming back, it's like getting re-traumatized.

I do not heart leg warmers.

Re-traumatization or new opportunity to rewrite your personal history by experiencing the 80's again but with new cognitive and emotional tools under your belt? <--that's the glass-half-full thing, in case you missed it :)

Speaking of which, I should pull out my leg warmers: I'm going to a Duran Duran concert in a few weeks!

Blargh! Duran Duran? Ack.

Yeah, the glass half full thing works--I'm using it on my math anxiety right now while taking stats!

Okay, this must be a cosmic joke or something.

Your last comment about rewriting personal history and all that? Yeah. I got four copies of it requesting to be approved for posting on my blog! So we've gone from rewriting my narrative to using flooding (I think that's what it's called)!

(This happens with Blogger sometimes. I know you've also noticed the spam blocking word the programs choose appear to be some permutation of real words used within the blog post itself.)

Ha! The cosmos is funny funny!

Research consistently proves flooding to be superior to systematic desensitization in most cases.

This must be why my father enjoyed yelling at me so much!

Okay, I'm cracking myself up. Wun't dat funny.
