This time away from painting, the longing for it...I wonder how it will transform your work upon your return to it.
Me, too.I think that as I confront this loss, I realize it's not as terrible as I imagined.And that opens me up to do different things, things that I might have hesitated doing because of the momentum and fear of losing what I had created.I toy with the idea of returning to drawing and charcoal, the removal of color and the emphasis on tone. Which reminds me, I just realized that my new vehicle is a similar color to my first one (grey/charcoal)! There's something to be said for somber classics.Or being truer to oneself.
